The Castle Road for iPhone, iPad and Android · Effective

The short version

  • The Castle Road saves your progress on your device. We don't run accounts, and we don't collect your personal data on our servers.
  • The free version shows ads from Google AdMob. Google may use an advertising identifier, but only with your consent or where the rules allow non-personalized ads.
  • Purchases of the Castle Road Pass are handled by Apple or Google. We never see your payment details.
  • We don't sell data, and the game has no analytics SDK.

Who we are

The Castle Road is developed by VINCI LABS (Jean Vinge), in Brazil. In this policy, "we" means VINCI LABS. If you have a question about privacy, email contato@vincilabs.com.br.

What the game keeps on your device

The game saves your progress on your device: your place on the road, your embers, your upgrades and your settings. Your saves stay on your device. We don't send them to us or to anyone else, and there's no account or sign-in.

The Guide works offline. The questions you ask it are answered on your device, and they don't leave the device.

The app doesn't include any analytics SDK, and we don't sell data.

Ads

The free version of The Castle Road shows full-screen ads from Google AdMob, through the Google Mobile Ads SDK. An ad can appear after a death, and at most one every 3 minutes. The Castle Road Pass removes ads, and while it is active the app doesn't load ads.

To show ads, measure them and prevent fraud, Google may collect:

Where you have consented, Google can show personalized ads. Otherwise, ads are non-personalized and don't use the advertising identifier for targeting. Google handles this data under its own policies. See how Google uses information from sites or apps that use its services and the Google Privacy Policy.

Consent and your choices

Where the law requires it, the app asks for your consent through Google's consent message before personalized ads are shown, or lets you opt out, depending on the rules where you live. On iPhone and iPad, Apple's App Tracking Transparency prompt also asks whether the app may track you. If you say no, the advertising identifier isn't used for tracking.

You can change your choices at any time: on iPhone and iPad, under Settings › Privacy & Security › Tracking; on Android, in your phone's settings, under Google › Ads, where you can reset or delete your advertising ID.

Purchases

The Castle Road Pass is an auto-renewable subscription sold through the App Store or Google Play. The purchase is handled entirely by Apple or Google. We never see your name, your payment details or your account. The app uses Apple's or Google's purchase system to know whether your Pass is active. See the terms of use for how the subscription works.

Children

The Castle Road is not directed at children under 13. The game has combat, and it is meant for players who are older than that. We don't knowingly collect personal information from anyone, children included. If you believe a child under 13 has given us personal information, email us and we'll delete it.

Keeping and deleting data

Your saves and settings stay on your device until you delete them. Deleting the app removes them from the device, and we don't keep a copy anywhere. The purchase record is kept by Apple or Google, under their own rules. Data that Google collects for ads is kept under the Google Privacy Policy. For details on how to delete your data, see the data deletion page.

Changes to this policy

If we change this policy, we'll post the new version on this page and update the effective date at the top. If a change affects what data is collected or how it's used, we'll also mention it in the release notes of the app update.

This version is effective as of .
