Who we are
The Castle Road is developed by VINCI LABS (Jean Vinge), in Brazil. In these terms, "we" means VINCI LABS. By downloading or using the app, you agree to these terms.
If you downloaded the app from the App Store, Apple's Licensed Application End User License Agreement also applies. If you downloaded it from Google Play, the Google Play Terms of Service also apply.
Using the game
You may play The Castle Road for your own personal, non-commercial use. Please don't copy, resell, reverse engineer or modify the app, and don't try to get around the ads or the subscription in ways the app doesn't offer.
Free version and ads
The free version of the game is available to everyone. After a death, a full-screen ad from Google AdMob may play, at most one every 3 minutes. Free players restart from the forest edge when they die, and they lose their embers. We don't control the content of third-party ads, and tapping one may take you to another app or website with its own terms.
The Castle Road Pass
What you get. While the Castle Road Pass is active, the game shows no ads. You also respawn at checkpoints, can buy upgrades in the Store, receive a weekly gift of embers, and get new roads with each update.
Plans and length. The Pass is sold as an auto-renewable subscription in two plans: a yearly plan, which includes a 3-day free trial, and a monthly plan. The title, the length of each plan and the price are shown in the app and in the store before you buy.
Payment. Payment is charged to your Apple ID or Google account when you confirm the purchase.
Renewal. The subscription renews automatically at the end of each period, at the price shown in the store, unless you turn off auto-renew at least 24 hours before the end of the current period. Your account is charged for the renewal within the 24 hours before the period ends.
Free trial. If a free trial is offered, any unused portion of it is forfeited when you buy a subscription. If you don't cancel before the trial ends, the subscription starts and is charged at the price shown.
Managing and cancelling. You can turn off auto-renew at any time in your account settings: on iPhone and iPad, in Settings › your name › Subscriptions; on Android, in Google Play › Payments & subscriptions. Cancelling stops future renewals. You keep the Pass until the end of the period you've already paid for.
Refunds. Purchases are processed by Apple or Google, so refund requests go to them: Apple or Google Play. We can't issue refunds ourselves.
Price changes. If the price of the Pass changes, Apple or Google will tell you before it applies to your subscription, following their own rules, and you can cancel before then.
Changes to the game
We keep improving The Castle Road, so features, roads and the Store may change over time. If we ever stop offering the Castle Road Pass, you won't be charged for any further renewals.
No warranty and liability
The app is provided "as is". We work hard to keep it running well, but we can't promise it will always be free of bugs or available without interruption. To the extent the law allows, we aren't liable for indirect or incidental damages from using the app. Nothing in these terms limits the rights you have as a consumer under the law where you live.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of Brazil, without taking away any consumer protection you have in your own country.
Changes to these terms
If we change these terms, we'll post the new version on this page and update the effective date at the top.
